TnT Find User - version 1.0
By: TnT Software - 07/06/92
INTRO
-----
TnT Find User is a neat utility to help, as the name illustrates, locate
a user. All too often the message "That user is not registered on this BBS!"
is seen when entering a message. Just because your friend "Mike" goes by the
name "Michael" on this BBS. To locate him, you can simply enter his last
name. TnT Find User will then list all members of the BBS who share that last
name. Heck, you can even type a couple of letters within the name! All names
matching those letters will be displayed.
FREE?!?
-------
Yes, that's right, FREE! This program is designed to help you out, not
clean you out.
SYNTAX
------
The file TNTFIND.EXE can be run from just about anywhere. We run it as
a "Hot Key" option from the Message Menu(see TriBBS documentation on how to
use "hot keys"). To run TnT Find User, the name of the config file (and full
path if not in current directory) should be given on the command line.
Ex:
C:> TNTFIND TNTFIND.CFG
or
C:> TNTFIND C:\TRIBBS\DOORS\TNTFIND\TNTFIND.CFG
CONFIG
------
The config file is plain ASCII text and should follow the format:
Line 1: Door data file type.
Line 2: Path to the door data file(s).
Line 3: BBS name.
Line 4: Sysop's name.
Line 5: Locked baud rate.
As illustrated above, the door's data file type is specified in line 1
and can be PCB for PCBoard, GAP for GAP (DOOR.SYS), SF for Spitfire, RBBS for
RBBS, WC for WildCat! or TRITEL for TriBBS. The locked baud rate is spec-
ified in line 5. If the sysop doesn't lock the serial port, he must specify 0
for the locked baud rate. NOTE: Although many door formats do pass the locked
baud rate in the door data files, some older formats such as RBBS do not. For
conformity, RMDoor requires that you specify the locked baud rate in line 5 and
ignores any value passed in the door data files.
